There are five steps to creating a Poppy Place:

  1. Anyone can identify a possible Poppy Place and contact the owning authority to make the request to Poppy Places as in our Contact Us page.  To assist there is an information sheet.

  2. Poppy Places verifies the proposal and assigns approval or declines the proposal. The authority is advised.

  3. Using the Application request template, from the Contact Us page, the authority writes the story about the Place and passes it to Poppy Places

  4. Poppy Places shares the story by publishing on its website.  The authority is encouraged to do the same on its own website.

  5. The authority procures and installs the poppy sign and may mark the occasion by commemorating and publicising the event.  Poppy Places can publish any commemoration information. This is important as part of the future history of the place.
